Requesting a re-quote

Simply select Re-quote to initiate price or coverage negotiations with Underwriters; you will find this option within the Quote tab of the risk file.

Use this option only when the details of the risk submission have not changed. By taking this step, you will no longer be able to bind the earlier quote or edit any risk details - the proposal form is now locked awaiting updated terms.

Use the Notes tab to further dialogue with Underwriters as needed.

Quick tip! The Re-Quote option can sometimes be confused with Modify; these are not the same. Select the Modify option only in cases where the details of the risk submission need to be changed or if an attachment needs to be added. By choosing Modify, you create a new risk version number and will have the option to use the Risk History tab to view earlier versions.

Once Underwriters have reviewed your request, you will receive an email notification indicating:

  • Underwriters have replied with a rate. Find the risk under the SAU Quoted Risks tiles on your Dashboard. Review the Notes and the Quote tabs of the risk file to review Underwriter feedback and updated terms.
  • Underwriters have declined to pursue the risk. You will need to Search for the risk; the current Risk Version will no longer be available and you cannot revert to its original pricing. Look to the Risk History tab to view any earlier versions of the risk that may exist and Clone if the insured would like to re-apply for coverage; doing so will create a new Risk ID, and hence, a new risk file.
